The girl that took my order did not seem happy to see me. But received my order within a few minutes. I had the sesame chicken and rice and my wife had chicken wings. Both were very good. The portions were large enough for leftovers for lunch. Over all good experience.

If you are looking for Chinese food in the city of Alachua, this is the place to go. It's located in a strip mall, sandwiched between a veterinary hospital and Canvas church. Tables are available inside for onsite dining (limited seating) but I usually order takeout. The food is always great and reasonably priced but I think my favorite part about this restaurant is that it is locally owned and operated by a very hard-working family. The husband and wife are always there and you will typically find one or both of their kids there helping behind the counter or seated at one of the tables doing homework. This is definitely a family operation! On our most recent visit we ordered the chicken chow mein combo for my dad. It comes with a single serving of the chicken chow mein and you can get white rice or fried rice and an egg roll. He chose the fried rice. Our son always orders the orange chicken and plain lo mein. We typically get our food as an entrée rather than the combo so that we can share. This is probably typical of most Chinese restaurants but when you order an item as an entrée, it comes with a separate little takeout box of white rice. This family knows how to cook white rice! We also got an order of Szechuan chicken and made a special request that it be more on the mild side. It was perfect! Steamed dumplings are always a hit with our family so we got an order just for good measure. . Everything we have ever ordered here has been delicious. The food is always hot and is ready in a reasonable amount time. So, if you want delicious, hot, Chinese food then support this hard-working family and give them a try. (We only got one picture... We were really hungry and ate before realizing we forgot to take a picture. LOL)

Delicious spring rolls with real mushrooms, and garlic-ginger goodness. Vegetable lo mein is packed with crunchy veggies and the thick noodles that last for days. Garlic Broccoli has such a flavorful sauce. My favorite take out because they use wax bags or paper boxes on most of these dishes.

Flavor-packed dishes that mix tradition and comfort

A quick scan of the Wok and Roll menu reveals a comforting blend of Chinese-American classics and a few creative surprises. The orange chicken is crisped to perfection, the beef with broccoli hits all the right savory notes, and the fried rice is deeply satisfying with just the right touch of wok char.

What sets them apart is the generosity—not just in portion size, but in seasoning and texture. Egg rolls are crisp, not greasy. The wonton soup soothes like a warm hug on a rainy day. Even the humble chicken lo mein comes loaded with flavor, plenty of veggies, and that signature silky noodle pull.

For vegetarians or those seeking lighter fare, the kitchen’s flexible. Tofu dishes like Szechuan tofu or mixed vegetable stir-fry offer fresh balance and full flavor. You’ll even find combination plates that are perfect for lunch breaks or family dinners, giving you a little bit of everything on one plate—rice, entrée, egg roll, and soup.
